Come enjoy the fun at our 2019 Summer Youth Workshops.  These morning workshops are for students entering grades 3, 4 or 5 in the fall of 2019. Please note that the "Write On!" workshop is a two day event where participants attend both dates.

A Summer Day of Work and Play (June 5 OR June 6)

Churn butter, make tin lanterns, play games and other fun activities from the early 1800’s

Prairie Pastimes  (June 12 OR June 13)

Make crafts from the past; doll-making, stenciling and explore recreation of the early times 

Old Tyme Woodworking (June 19 OR June 20)

Build wood projects using tools from the 1800’s

Write On! (June 26 AND June 27)

Journal like a Civil War soldier and experience reporting, poetry, and story telling

School Days - Old Time Way (July 10 or July 11)

Experience a one-room schoolhouse (c.1890) using slates, writing with ink quill pens, and playing recess games

This family walking tour will investigate several historical buildings while looking for clues to Centerville/Washington Township’s past
